Abandoned Child with Cerebral Palsy Finds Shelter and love
On June 28th, 2020,  a story was published on Punchng.com about a 5-year-old girl with Cerebral Palsy (CP) who was abandoned in front of a shop in Lagos on Wednesday, June 24th, 2020. She was later taken to the police station by the shop owner. Efforts by the Police to get her into a Special home proved unsuccessful.
One way or the other she was transferred to another police station in Agbado (Ogun State) – which shares boundary with Lagos. This was after she was rejected by many homes. You can read the full story here: https://punchng.com/ogun-lagos-orphanages-reject-abandoned-child-with-cerebral-palsy/

It was at this point the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Caring Friends Foundation(CFF) swiftly moved into action to find shelter and love for the abandoned girl.
With our historical support for special homes in the last year, we believed we could leverage on the relationship we had with some of the special homes to accept her.
The Board of Caring Friends Foundation (CFF), reached out to Pastor Okoliko of Centre for Destitute Empowerment (CDE) who indicated a willingness to accept her if we met the documentation and medical check requirements.
Next, the Board of CFF contacted the Editor of the online news, Mr Afeez Hanafi who connected the team to the DPO of the Police Station to gain a full understanding of the situation and expressed intention to relocate the girl to a shelter.
By the night of June 29th, CFF had made contact with the DPO and was guided on the necessary tools and documentation to do this.
With relentless dedication, the CFF representatives visited the Police Station by the morning of  June 30th to complete the process and successfully moved her to CDE home.
By 1.30pm on same day, June 30, 2020, she was successfully relocated to CDE and handed over to capable hands in the Special Home, after exactly 1 week of being abandoned.
We have named our new found princess *Comfort* and she fits perfectly into our *One Child A Time* Project which we have always nurtured.
We would be supporting the home at regular intervals to ensure she is nurtured alongside other residents of the home.
We named her Comfort, because even in her lonely moments, God raised help and sent her Comfort. IMG-20200630-WA0018
